It should be noted that annealed copper is delivered in rings up to 22 x 1 in diameter IMPORTANT: Even though no specific rule exists regarding the choice of annealed or cold- rolled for this or that application, based on our experience, we recommend using annealed for buried pipe lines and cold-rolled for visible pipe lines.
Annealed tubing for buried pipe lines is in-plant protected by a plastic coating that adheres to the exterior diameter of the tube, called wicu tube.
The wicu or similar tube is used to protect the copper from chemical corrosion and stray currents.
