Mechanical resistance and leak tests

Required to ensure the safety and proper operation of the installation
All lines carrying LPG in the liquid phase must undergo a hydrostatic mechanical resistance test at 1.5 times maximum working pressure (30 bars for propane and 12 bars for butane) followed by a leak test at working pressure.
For lines carrying LPG in the gaseous phase, they must undergo a mechanical resistance test at 1.5 times working pressure with a minimum of 3 bars and have a pressure limiter at the end of OPFE.
If the pressure limiter is not provided for, the pipe line will need to undergo a hydrostatic mechanical resistance test at 1.5 times maximum working pressure (30 bars for propane and
12 bars for butane) followed by a leak test at working pressure.
